How much was the Greek culture influenced by other cultures?
Q. Was the Greek culture inspired mainly by Egypt? Which other cultures were influent in shaping Greek culture? Is it fair to say that Greek philosophy was tremendously influenced by eastern philosophy and therefore the Greeks were not original in their thinking? Thanks for your answer.

A. We usually see Greece as the cradle of civilization, and we are mostly right: it really shaped our civilization. However, in Antiquity, as today, nothing was static and there was a tremendous exchange of ideas and culture. This was done through the merchants and an extensive commerce between Mesopotamia and the Indus River Valley, and Mesopotamia and the West (Egypt, Greece, North Africa). Indeed, Eastern philosophers had contact with Greek philosophers even before Socrates' time. Many philosophers and historians have analyzed the thoughts layed out by Pythagoras. How do you make greek coffee?
Q. I had it several times in a small restaraunt operated by a Greek family. It is thick and flavored. Stronger than espresso. The cook would not share his recipe.

A. Greek coffee is easy to make. First, measure the required cups of water into the briki. The measure should be one of the cups that the coffee is going to be served in. It is advisable not to make more than 3-4 small cups of coffee at a time. Greek coffee can be made in four different ways. He can be sketos (without sugar, strong and bitter), metrios (medium, usually with one teaspoonful of sugar), glykys or vari glykos (almost honey-sweet) and glykys vrastos - sweet but boiled more then once so it loses most of its froth. Depending on which art of Greek Coffee you like, measure and add into the briki the coffee, a teaspoonful of coffee per cup, and the sugar. For a medium coffee the best balance is to add the same amount of sugar as coffee. [cont.]

Q. I have almost all the expansion packs and stuff for The Sims 2 and I need some help with The Sims 2 University. How can I make my own Greek House? Do I need some members or I can do it with only one sim? And if I can, how do I make Toga Party (hope I wrote the name good)? Please if you know more things about The Sims 2 University tell me. A. To start your own Greek house you must be living in a private house. Dorms cannot be converted to Greek houses. To convert your Private residence into a Greek house, click on your phone, choose Greek House, then select Apply for Charter . You must have at least two members of your household before you can apply to become a Greek House; if you have less, the option is still available, but the dialog box asking for confirmation will not appear. Greek status can be viewed by purchasing a Greek letter in Buy mode (it's under Decorative - Wall Hangings). Once you have a letter, click on it in Live mode and choose Check Greek House Status.
